We're Running a Hostile

No, I didn't misspell that. Right after Knuckles left Roethke showed up. With his bed. That used to be my bed. Why do these interlopers always have to bring their furniture? And he doesn't even sleep on it - Ivan does. Whatever. I like Knuckles and I like Roethke. I especially like seeing them outside. Here's a picture of me and Roethke at the beach.
Oh boy! I love the beach! I love rolling in the sand and running around of leash. What do you mean I have to stay on leash? So what if Roethke's on leash - I'm not Roethke. Huh? I don't get it. If I can't run around off leash, then I'm not running around. Period! I sat down by a bench with my human and my other human ran around with Roethke. Humph.

Did I mention that Roethke eats breakfast after his morning walk? What do you mean I'm eating after my morning walk? I don't think so! I don't like walking before I eat and here's what I'm doing about it! Here's a picture of me protesting morning walks before breakfast.

I'm not moving and you can't make me! Roethke is chewing on a stick. Here's a picture of me trying to ignore the insanity going on nearby.

I had to turn away. Here's a picture of me turning away.

I can't watch. It hurts my sensibilities. Seriously, dogs are very sensitive. And we can smell crazy a long way away. Here's a picture of me trying to enjoy the cold morning in the park - even though I'm starving.

Here's a picture of Roethke being crazy.

I think Roethke got annoyed that I was annoyed because he made me wrestle. Hey! I was annoyed first! Here's a picture of us wrestling.

Here's another picture of us wrestling.

Um, okay, I may have actually enjoyed it. But it was still too early and I want my breakfast - NOW! We went back inside and had breakfast. The next morning we had breakfast before our morning walk. My house, my rules!

Knuckles...Here and Gone.

Last week was extra long because Knuckles was with us. He needs to go on lots of walks - like 3 a day! And he walks the whole time. And runs and jumps. On Thursday I had some time away from home - just me, no Knuckles. I went to Walter Payton College Prep to volunteer for Safe Humane Chicago. It was really hot, but I got some treats and lots of pets. Here's a picture of me with Cynthia from SHC.

She was really happy to see me. I was expecting string cheese. I didn't get any. On Friday Knuckles went to visit the cat shelter (don't ask me why) and I went to play with Roethke. I didn't play very much. Why not? Too much walking - I'm exhausted! But at least the weather is finally nice again! Oh boy - snow! And cold! So happy!!! On Saturday I went to the beach (with Knuckles). Here's a picture of me and Knuckles on the beach.

It was so nice and windy. Can we just lie down here for a few hours? We couldn't. We went inside. Something about Everybody being cold. Who's Everybody? Why doesn't Everybody dress warmer? I don't like missing out on winter!!! Last night we hung out in the living room and watched tv. Knuckles was being really needy. Here's a picture of Knuckles being really needy on the couch with my human.

Pathetic. I like Knuckles, but he can be annoying. When he hears sirens, he howls. What the hell is that!? And he always hits me in the face with his tail. Here's a video of Knuckles hitting me in the face with his tail.

My human didn't even try to stop it. Sigh. Knuckles went home last night. This morning I spent almost my whole walk lying in the park. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

The Visitor

Last week Grandma's cats went to their new home. They lived with us for over a year. I miss them. Mostly I miss their food bowls that I got to lick when they were done eating. I look in the room where they stayed after every meal, but still, nothing. I went to the vet last week and I only weigh 58 pounds! My human says "Good." I say "FEED ME!!!! I'm starving!"

Today I went for a long walk. I went to Parkview Pet Supplies and had a thumper. MMMMMMM! Thumpers!! Then we came home and guess who was outside? Knuckles. Huh? We just got rid of three cats and I'm thinking we could stand to lose a couple more and now we're adding a dog? He's just here for a little while, right? Like an hour? Two? Why does he need a bed? Here's a picture of me and Knuckles in the kitchen.
We are so hungry! After his humans left we went for a walk. Then a couple hours later we went for another walk. Hey! I don't need to walk this often and I'm pretty sure he's faking it just to go outside. He was still here at dinner time. Here's a picture of me and Knuckles and the cats in the kitchen waiting for dinner.

Well, most of us are waiting; Shadow is on the counter trying to self serve some dog food. I like having Knuckles around for dinner because he never finishes his food and I get to eat what he leaves behind. Except he eats really slow and my human makes me wait until he's done. You can eat more than one piece of kibble at a time! Here, let me show you. I wasn't allowed to show. Mmmmmmmore, please! Extra dinner was good, but I'm not going out again tonight no matter what!

Any Press is Good Press!

Oh boy, I'm on Tails Magazine's website! It's an article about how my humans rescued me called "Bringin' Home A Grizzly." You can read it here. Do I get treats for that? Why not??
