National Barbeque Day!

Yesterday I got to go to Parkview Pet store. I was hot, but it was worth it. When we came home we had barbeque. Mmmmmm! Ribs!! Then last night there were fireworks. I don't get fireworks. I mean if you like loud noises and having someone shine bright lights in your face, but I don't. And they smell really bad too. The cats don't like them either – they hid under the bed. But after the fireworks I got a beefy bone, so I guess it was okay. My human tried to take me for a walk late last night, but I wouldn't go. The whole place stank like fireworks.

This morning I went for a short walk. I could still smell the fireworks and I was tired and hot. When I was awake at noon we went out and I could still smell the fireworks a little, but that didn't matter because the whole neighborhood smelled even more like BARBEQUE!!! We walked in the park and there were barbeques EVERYWHERE! I tried to go over and get some but my human wouldn't let me. I don't see why not. I get food off the grill at home and I'm sure the people would have shared with me. I think my humans felt bad about not letting me go over to any of the barbeques (there were so many!!), because when we got home they gave me a homemade frozen dogurt (mmmmmm! peanut butter and yogurt! mmmmmm!) and then when they had lunch I got ribs and macaroni and cheese. MMMMMMMM! You know what would be really good? Cheese ribs!!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! And maybe they could put some bacon bits on top! MMMNNGH!! SOOOOOO GOOOOOD!!!!

There were lots more fireworks today, but they were smaller and further away. Other than the fireworks I think the 4th of July is the best holiday because it is all about barbeque. Why don't they call it National Barbeque Day? I would. I would lose the fireworks and just throw some sausages into the air instead. That makes more sense on National Barbeque Day. Next year I want S'mores.
