Peace Day

Today I went to Rainbow Beach to take part in the Peace Day celebration as an Ambassador Dog for Safe Humane Chicago. I was really excited to go – even though it was raining a lot. When we got there, we went inside and had to sit in a crowd while some people talked on and on. I wasn't allowed to go over and see the little kids who kept waving at me. Why not?? A couple of people came over to pet me and I liked that.

Then everyone stood up and they all held big flags – hey, don't step on me! Don't hit me with that flag! Everyone started chanting words together and holding up the flags. I didn't like it. I tried to leave, but I wasn't allowed. I stood as close to the door as possible. Nobody said there would be chanting!! It took a really long time, but they finally stopped. Then they moved furniture around and we went into a smaller room. I sat by a stage with two other dogs. There was more talking. Finally people came up to pet me. There weren't that many children and only a couple people came up to me. My human told me that some of them were scared of me. Huh? There was one boy who stayed with me almost the whole time and rubbed my ears a lot. I liked him. I didn't really like the rest of it. Did I mention that there were muffins but I didn't get any? Humph!

And I didn't get to go to the pet store either. I was told I was going to go to the pet store, but I didn't.
