Dog Day on the Green

Today I went to Dog Day on the Green at Montrose Harbor. It was hot! We walked around to all the booths. I thought they would have treats, but nobody gave me any. My human brought treats, so I got some of my cheese puff treats. I like them, but I get those all the time. I think that if you go to a dog event, you should bring treats. Period.

Then my human took me to the agility course. A woman walked around and gave me cheese when I followed her. Here's a picture of me stepping through a big round thing and eating string cheese.

There aren't too many places I wouldn't go if there is string cheese in front of me. Here's a picture of me going through a tube.
It's not my best angle. It was cool inside the tube, so I decided to lie down. Here's a picture of me trying to ignore the string cheese so I can stay inside the cool tube.
Here's a picture of me trying to reach the string cheese without leaving the cool tube.

No! It's hot! Why are you people tormenting me with cheese?! Here's a picture of me sitting on the edge of the tube for the string cheese.

It was too good to resist. I made it through the whole course. I would have been happy just to eat cheese. I don't see why I had to walk all over the place for it.

After the agility course we sat around for a long time doing nothing and I was really hot. It was boring. Then one of my humans took me over to the Robinson's Rib tent. Mmmmmmm! Ribs! I was so excited! He didn't get ribs, he got a cheeseburger. MMMMMMM! Cheeseburgers!! Here's a picture of me waiting for some cheeseburger.
It was sooooo good!!

Then we went into a tent for the Safe Humane Chicago presentation and I sat up at the front of the tent where everyone could see me. There were supposed to be lots of kids there to come up and pet me, but there weren't any. Some people took my picture and said I was pretty. After that we went over to another tent and I was the only dog there – except for some fake dogs. Why? I don't know. Here's a picture of me with one of the fake dogs.
I sat around and got treats while children came up to pet me. Here's a picture of me being petted by a little girl.
Here's a picture of a little girl saying hi.
Here's a picture of her petting me.
After they pet me, the children got lollipops. Hey, those smell good! Here's a picture of me trying to get a lollipop.
I wasn't allowed.
My human said she would take me to the beach later, but we didn't go to the beach, we just came home. That's okay with me. I'm exhausted. At home I got a peanut butter frozen dogurt! MMMMMMMM! Dogurt! Zzzzzzzzzz.....

Forever!!

My human is finally back! She abandoned me for the longest time - it felt like forever. My other human and I had fun while she was gone. I went to the beach a lot and to Parkview to see Joe. I got to sleep late every day! But I like having both my humans home - I don't like it when they go away and leave me. Now everything is back to normal - sort of. This weekend my human says we are going to go to Dog Day on the Green. I don't know what that means. As long as they have sausages, I'll go.

Beach!

Today I went for a walk and got to go to the beach!! I haven't been to the beach in forever! I was so excited! I rolled around in the sand and then I ran into the water and lay down. It felt so goooood! I chased some sticks and had lots of fun. I was the only dog there. I didn't want to leave because my humans might never let me come back again like last time. But then we walked to Starbuck's and I got to go to Parkview Pet store and they gave me lamb puffs! Mmmmmmm!

When we got home my human took me in the back yard and I thought we were going for a car ride, but we didn't. She hosed me off. I don't get it – I'm already wet! Then we went upstairs and I took a long nap.

For dinner I only got a little food again, but then I got the rest of my chicken cheesecake from Dundee Boy's Party – MMMMMMMM! Thank you, Dundee Boy!! I was tired so I just went to bed. My human dragged me downstairs really late and I refused to do anything. Why don't you just let me sleep? If I need to go out, I'll let you know.

No Sausage Day.

Today I stayed home and slept. Then in the afternoon I went for a car ride. We went to Gethsemane Garden Center. I got to walk through the plants and around all the outdoor furniture. Here's a picture of me by some dog statues.

I don't know why my human took this picture. She thought it was funny. I don't get it. Some people who work there came over to pet me and asked me if I wanted any water. I didn't, but it was nice of them to ask. Here's a picture of me by all the shelves of flowers.

I give Gethsemane Garden Center 3 Paws.

Then we went to Lincoln Square. There was a sausage shop there. We didn't go to the sausage shop. I don't see why not. Here's a picture of me by a
Nuts for Pups sign at Stanley Brown Jewelist.

My human says they give money to help homeless animals. Apparently they don't actually give nuts to pups though. I could've used some nuts...cashew nuts, honey roasted peanuts. Mmmmm! We walked around for awhile. Here's a picture of me by a fountain.

You can see the Chicago Brauhaus in the background. They serve sausages there. Did I mention I didn't get any sausages?

Then right before bed my human gave me another slice of chicken cheesecake! MMMMMMMM!! That almost makes up for not getting any sausages.

Dundee Boy's Rescue Day Party!!!

This morning my humans took me for a long walk to Starbuck's and Parkview Pet store. Joe gave me lots of lamb puffs at the pet store. Mmmmmm! Lamb Puffs!

I took a nap and then later we went to Dundee Boy's Rescue Day Party. I was SO excited!!! I was a little nervous too but then I met Dundee Boy and Scruffy. They were both nice. I like them. My human took my leash off so I could walk around the yard. Here's a picture of me with Dundee Boy.

He isn't looking at the camera because he's drinking water.

I thought there was going to be a hoagie pool, but there wasn't. There was a doggie pool. I didn't go in the pool and I was kind of disappointed that there weren't any hoagies. My human says she always said 'doggie' pool, never 'hoagie' pool. I say, I'm a dog; I have excellent hearing.

There were cats at the party too and they had an outside cage. Here's a picture of me with Amigo in his outside cage.

My human took me inside. I didn't think I would like it inside because they have tile floors, but then Yvette gave me a meatball on a stick! MMMMMMMMMM! Sooooo goooood! Here's a picture of me getting my meatball.

I met Bucky Bloo inside. He's another cat. Here's a picture of me with Scruffy and Bucky Bloo.
It's not a very good picture. My human took it. I like Bucky Bloo. He talked a lot.

Then we went back outside and I tried to mooch food with Scruffy. Here's a picture of me and Scruffy mooching.

It's not a very good picture either. My human gave us both beef liver treats, but she wouldn't let me have any chips.

My human sat on the patio but most of the time I lay down in the doorway. Here's a picture of me in the doorway.
I was just making sure that Bucky Bloo didn't get out.

Then it was cheesecake time!! Here's a picture of Dundee Boy's cheesecake.
And here's a picture of Dundee Boy and Scruffy waiting for the cheesecake.
I think they were hoping it would fall on the ground so they could eat all of it. It was from Famous Fido's and it was chicken flavored. Mmmmmmm!

Here's a picture of me about to get my piece of cheesecake.
MMMMMMMMMM! It was soooooo goooood! I ate the whole thing in one bite. (It was a small piece. It just looks big in the picture because of the camera angle.)

We stayed at the party for a long time. Everyone was really nice and pet me a lot. I fell asleep by the doorway. Cheescake makes me sleepy.

When we left Yvette gave me a piece of cheesecake to take home for later. THANK YOU, YVETTE!!!!! I give Dundee Boy's Rescue Day Party 4 PAWS!!

When we got home the cats sniffed me a lot. I think they were jealous. For dinner I'm pretty sure I got less food than normal. I don't think that's right. My human says I'm fat. I'm not fat; I'm full figured and I have lots of fur!! I'm tired and my chest hurts. I'm going to go to sleep now. I better get my cheesecake tomorrow.

Loooong Day

Today I went for a walk with my humans. We walked to Dunkin Donuts. I was so excited!! I LOVE donuts!! Here's a picture of me waiting outside Dunkin Donuts.

See how happy I look. It's because I think I'm getting donuts. Mmmmmmm! But I didn't get donuts. My human got coffee and a bagel and I got nothing! HUMPH! I thought maybe I could walk to the pet store for treats. I kept trying to walk toward the pet store, but my humans wouldn't go that way. They walked me to Buttercup Playlot. It was okay, but the pet store would have been a lot better. I give Buttercup Playlot 2 Paws. Then we walked all the way down to the park and I stood in the shade and my human brushed me with the Furminator. Here's a picture of me after my brushing.

It's about time! See all the fur on the ground? That's just the stuff that didn't blow away. I don't really like being brushed all that much, but I felt a lot cooler after.

I saw a squirrel on the grass out in the open and he didn't notice me. I was thirsty and squirrels may look furry and hot, but they're really juicy and very refreshing. The squirrel saw me and started running around in circles. I tried to run after him but my leash stopped me. I would have caught that squirrel if I didn't have a leash on! I started running around and jumping because I almost caught a squirrel and it made me really excited. Then I was hot and tired and we went home.

At home I got a special treat – I got a TriPom chicken chew! Mmmmmmm! I LOVE TriPom Chews! Here's a picture of the giant bag my human got me.

It was my special Grizzly Day present. I like the ones with molasses best. MMMMMMMM! I give TriPom Chews 4 Paws! Mmmmmmore please!

Later I went down on the deck with my human. I only went down because I thought I was going to get fed outside. But I didn't get anything.

Then after that my humans took me down to the corner of our street and we stood there with some other people for a long time. I didn't see the point. My human says it helps keep the neighborhood safe. Huh? She calls it 'positive loitering.' I call it boring. I was glad when we went back home. My dinner was late from standing outside so long.

Then later my humans headed out the back and I wanted to go with. I LOVE car rides! And this was a goooood car ride – we went to Popeye's! MMMMMMMM!!! Fried chicken!!!! Biscuits!!! French fries!!! Mac and cheese!!! MMMMMMMMMMNNGHHH!!! We went to the drive thru. I LOVE big bags of food! It smelled sooooo goooood!! I got so excited. My human gave me a french fry. MMMMMM!!!! When we got home I got some of everything – except the coleslaw. I probably would eat the coleslaw, but I wouldn't like it as much as fried chicken and french fries and MMMMMMMM!!!!! I give Popeye's 4 Paws! The only thing that would have made it better is if I had a donut for dessert.

My chest hurts. I'm going to bed.

Pet Store Day!

Today I got to go on a car ride to Hyde Park. I went and visited Parker's Pets on 55th Street. Here's a picture of me in the pet store.

I LOVE Parker's Pets! See all the treats? They have soooo many treats there. I was excited when I saw the counter because I know counters mean dog treats! When you see a counter you have to run right up and sit down and look cute and then the person behind the counter will give you treats. Mmmmmmm! (It's really important to get right up to the front of the counter, so if someone else is there just push in front of them.) I give Parker's Pets 3 Paws! I want to go back soon. My human bought some stuff and then we left. I thought we were going home, but we went to Parkview Pet store instead and I got to see Joe and get more treats! MMMMMMM! Then we went home. It was a pretty good day for being so hot out.
