Fall Fests Are Fun!

Ahhhh! Fall!! So happy!! The other week I went to Chicago Canine Rescue's Mutt Strut. First we just stood around while some people talked and talked thru a microphone - so loud!! - and then we went for a long walk. It was kind of hot out and we ended up right where we started. Huh? I didn't see the point. Here's a picture of me on the long walk.
We short-cutted thru a parking lot at one point, but I could have short-cutted the whole thing by just staying put in the first place! There were lots of tables set out with treats and stuff. I got some rabbit jerky at the Kriser's table. MMMMMMM!!!!! So good! And I got a pupcake at the Dog-A-Holics table! Mmmmmmm! Here's a picture of me by the pupcakes.
More, please! I didn't get more. I did get pepperoni pizza though! MMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Here's a picture that Sue Yellen took of me waiting for some pepperoni pizza.
See how good I'm being? She took some more pictures of me too (who wouldn't?!). Click here to see more of her pictures of me. I would have stuck around for some more pizza, but there wasn't any, so I wanted to go home. My human wanted to wait for the raffle because she didn't write her name on the tickets. Huh? I want to go now! We went home. I give the Mutt Strut 2 Paws this year. Next year we should skip the walking and get more treats.

Then last weekend Knuckles came to stay. Remember Knuckles? He came to stay with us before too. I like Knuckles. I also like no Knuckles. But Knuckles came. He brought his bed again too, but he slept on the floor next to my humans' bed. Hey! That's where I sleep. Whatever. I'll allow it. I slept on the couch. Here's a picture of me and Knuckles smelling stuff.
Mmmmmm! We met a husky when we were walking. Knuckles really liked her. She was okay, but after awhile I had enough of their playing and put an end to it. Hmph! Here's a picture of us saying goodbye to the husky.
I'm done already. Here's a picture of us waiting for treats in the kitchen.
Me first! Shadow Cat is trying to hone in too. You can just see him in the background.

After Knuckles left on Sunday I went to Found's Day of the Dog fest. The first thing I saw was the Fido To Go truck. I love Fido To Go!! Here's a picture of me being fed off the Fido To Go truck.
Mmmmmmmmore please! My human bought me more. I got some french toast bones and a mac and cheese frozen dogurt. MMMMM!! What do you mean it's for later? We ran into Maggie. Here's a picture of me and Maggie. We're kind of ignoring each other.
Are we done here? We were done. I give Day of the Dog 3 Paws.

Diamonds in the Ruff Fundraiser

On Thursday I went to the Safe Humane Chicago fundraiser, Diamonds in the Ruff at Salvage One. When we walked in, there was a table of cupcakes by the entrance. I liked Salvage One right away! We walked around and found the table for the Youth Leaders program. Um...hey, this table is all the way on the other side of the room from all the food! Lots of people came over and pet me and talked to my human. I kept trying to get over to the food, but I wasn't allowed. Here's a picture of me at the Youth Leaders table.
I'm sitting on my rug from home. Can we go eat now? We didn't. Finally my human brought over something to eat. It was soooo good! Prosciutto on a baguette! Mmmmmmm! Hey, I smell barbeque!! Can I have some? Please? Pleeeeeease??? I got some! Um, that's...not...meat. Why would there be barbeque without meat? I don't get it. Then my human got a cupcake. I LOVE cupcakes! I wanted it so bad I laid down without even being told to. I got half the cupcake! MMMMMMMMMMMMM! Finally my human walked me around the room. I got to eat a lot of crumbs off the floor. I wanted to go over to the people who were sitting down eating, but I wasn't allowed. I don't see why not. I stopped at the tallest counter. Here's a picture of me at the counter.
This must be where all the meat is! It wasn't. My human got a limeade. I got nothing. Hmph.

Then my human took me over to get my picture taken with Hector. He's one of the Vicktory dogs who was rescued by Best Friends Animal Society. Here's a picture that Jill Tondu from Spicy Dog Photo took of me and Hector.
He wasn't paying attention. Here's another one.Don't jump on me, okay? Here's another picture she took of me and Hector. If I'm not getting any treats for this, I think I'm done here. I'm tired and it's past my dinner time. Feed me or take me home! We went home. It was fun to see all the people, but next time can we get some Popeye's?

Prairie Wolf Dog Park!!

Today I went to Prairie Wolf Dog Park again! I haven't been there in years. I don't know why not. Scruffy and Teeny and Knuckles came too. Right away I found a giant mud puddle to lie down in! Here's a picture of me lying in the mud puddle.

It felt sooooo gooooood. It was nice and cool and shady. Ahhhh! Here's a picture of me walking in the mud puddle.
I may have taken a few sips. Feels. So. Good!!! Can I stay here? I wasn't allowed. My tail felt really heavy when I got out. Here's a picture of me out of the mud puddle.
See how low my tail is hanging? It felt better after I shook off. Here's a picture of me after I shook.
Much better. We walked around some more. Hey, is that a pond I smell?? It was! Here's a picture of me on the bank of the pond.
Um, it's kind of high up. Lots of dogs were jumping off the bank into the water. I don't want to jump! I tried to find another way down. It was tricky. Here's a picture of me looking for a way down into the pond.
Arrgh! Too steep! Here's a picture of me finding a way down into the pond.
It was really muddy. Here's a picture of me in the pond.
Finally! It was nice and deep! It tasted good too! Here's a picture of me after my dip in the pond.
Look, ma - no mud! There were lots of other dogs there. Knuckles was really crazy at the pond. He kept running around and jumping all over the bank. Whatever. He's nuts. Teeny tried to chase some big dogs, but I didn't allow it. Let's go - there's too many other dogs here! We left the pond and walked around on the path. Here's a picture of me and Teeny and Knuckles.
I'm blocking Scruffy. Here's another picture of us on the path.
It's just me and Knuckles and Scruffy. I don't know where Teeny went. It's hard to keep track of something that little! Hey, what's that smell? Oh, smells sooooo gooooood! I don't know what it was, but I rolled in it so I could smell it later! Here's a picture of me rolling in the good smell.
I could have rolled in it for hours but my human made me stop. So what, it's really strong and I got it right on top of my head! Then we went to a big field and I got to chase a stick. Some other dogs tried to get my stick but I didn't let them! Here's a picture of me and Scruffy in the field.
Um, I'm ready to go home now. Here's a picture of me waiting to go home.
We didn't go home. My human stood around and talked for hours. Here's a picture of me lying in the field waiting for her to stop talking so we can go home.
I was tired and kind of bored, but it was still a good day! Here's another picture of me lying in the field.
See how happy I am? Can we come back soon? Please??

Nose Class!!...Sort of.

I love Wednesdays!! Why? Because it's Nose Work Day! I was so excited that I ran around on the beach for a really long time. I rolled in the sand and it got in my eyes! Ow!! That hurts! Good thing I know what to do when stuff gets in my eyes - rub my face on the ground to get it out. No, wait!! That made it worse!! More sand in my eyes than before! I wanted to go back in the water to get the sand out of my eyes, but I wasn't allowed. We went home instead. My human wiped my eyes with a cool cloth. Yeah, that feels much better! Then I took a long nap. I was really tired after all that running around. My human thought I was too tired to go to my nose work class. Huh??!! No I'm not! We didn't go. We had fake nose work class at home. Nose work class at home is kind of good because I get all the treats and don't have to share the class with anyone else. But I like going for a car ride and going to Canine Crews - so many good smells there! Here's a picture of my from my nose work class last week at Canine Crews.
See all the boxes? I like to check them all just in case there are any crumbs. Here's another picture of me from last week.
Found it! Here's another picture from last week.
Found it! And another one.
Found it! And here's another one.
Found it again! Last week my human brought polish sausage for my nose work treats. MMMMMMMMMMM!!! There isn't much I wouldn't do for polish sausage! Here's a picture of me from my fake nose work class at home. It's blurry. See the box that's knocked over on the right? The treat was under there. Tonight my human used fig newtons for my nose work treats. MMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! FIG NEWTONS!! So good! Here's another picture of me from my fake nose work class. It's really blurry because my human put the treat up high so I had to stand on a box to get it. I didn't want to stand on a box, so I grabbed the treat and took it on the floor to eat it. Whatever. It was a fig newton, so it was worth it! Last week Scruffy came to my nose work class. Hey! I know him! Here's a picture of Scruffy finding a treat at nose work class.I think they made it easy. I hope next week we go back to Canine Crews. Know what would be a good nose work treat? Bacon!! And ribs! And peanut butter! And MMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

Another Summer Day

A few weeks ago I went to the beach. It was so much fun! There were lots of waves. Here's a picture of me getting hit by a wave.
It felt good! Here's another picture of my in the waves.
It's hard to see, but I'm smiling! Here's a picture of me jumping in the waves.
Can we live at the beach?? I don't see why not. Here's a picture of me in the water with another dog.
I'm telling him to go away. He listened. I found a big stick to play with. Here's a picture of me with my stick on the beach.
It's blurry because I'm shaking it. Here's a picture of me bringing my stick out of the water.
I may have dropped it a couple of times because it was so big. Here's another picture of me with my stick in the water.
The next time I went to the beach, my stick was gone. I really don't see why we can't live there.

Books and Rabbits...maybe

The other day I went to Ravenswood Used Books. It was really small with lots and lots of books. There was hardly any room for me at all. Know what it reminded me of? A rabbit warren! I bet there's rabbits in here! I can't smell them because of all the books. I wanted to go look for rabbits, but I wasn't allowed. Here's a picture of me in one of the little cubbies of books.
See how little it is? Here's another picture of me in the bookstore.
There must be thousands of places for rabbits to hide! Here's a closeup of me in a book cubby.
Oh please can I go look for rabbits? Please??? I still wasn't allowed. I tried to lie down, but my human thought I might get stepped on. I think Ravenswood Used Books would have been fun if my human hadn't been there. I give Ravenswood Used Books 2 Paws because it smelled good.

Keeping Busy

Last week I went for a long car ride - I love car rides! Where are we going? Will there be food there? We went to Val's Halla Records in Oak Park. And there was food! Val gave me treats right away! Here's a picture of me in Val's Halla Records.
It's blurry. Here's another picture of me by the counter where I got treats.
It's blurry too. I liked Val and the record store had lots of good smells. But my human stood around talking for hours! Hey! Let's go already! Or give me more treats. I didn't get any more treats. We were there so long I had to lie down and take a nap. I give Val's 2 Paws.

Then on Wednesday I went for another car ride. I thought we were going to Waggin' Wednesday, but we didn't. We went to Canine Crews. My human said it was for a 'nose class'. Huh? Um...this place smells like a boarding house. I was ready to go - I don't want to be boarded! Then we went upstairs to a big room. Um...still not liking this! There were a couple of other dogs there too. They didn't look nervous, but still...Emily was there with her dog Kayla - hey, I know them from Safe Humane Chicago! Emily went in the other room and got out a bunch of boxes. I went into the room and she gave me treats! Mmmmmmmm! Buddy Biscuits!!! Then she hid treats in the boxes and I had to find them. I got to eat every one I found! Oh boy! I like this game!! Then I had to go out into the big room and another dog went into the room with the boxes. Hey! He's eating my treats! Let me back in there!! It was driving me crazy! I whined and pulled at the leash and even barked, but my human made me stay with her. Finally I went back in the room with the boxes again and got more treats. I only got to do it a few times and I didn't like having to share it with the other dogs one bit. But I give the Canine Sports Dog Training 'nose class' at Canine Crews 4 Paws! Can we go back next week? Can we? Please???????!!!!!!
