Bored at Nordstrom

On Valentine's Day I went to Orvis. Hey, I remember this place! Everybody was really nice and came over to pet me. One guy tried to get me to play with the bear footstool. Why would I play with a footstool? I wouldn't. My human tried to take my picture but I kept sticking my tongue out. Here's a picture of me in Orvis sticking my tongue out. Here's another one.And another one.She wouldn't give up. Here's a picture of me looking away. They don't have any treats here. Let's go. We left and went to Chase Bank. It wasn't like the one by us – it had a moving staircase! We took the elevator. It had a hole in the center where the moving staircase went and it was all glass. I didn't like it. It looked like you could fall right through. I'll walk over here next to the wall, thank you. I wanted to leave, but then a lady gave me a milkbone. Mmmmmilkbones! Can I have another? I got another! Mmmmmm! Then we went to Nordstrom. It was really big. Lots of people told me how pretty I am. Here's a picture of me in the mall lobby. It's not very good. There was a cafe but I wasn't allowed there. Here's a picture of me in the shoe department at Nordstrom. Why do I have to be here? I don't need shoes. Apparently neither does my human because she tried on three pair and didn't get any. Everybody was nice but I was bored. They should call it Boredstrom. Can we go now? I was promised frozen yogurt. Here's a picture of me in front of Boredstrom.I'm only posing because I want my yogurt. I didn't get any. Huh? I was promised! We went to Starbuck's instead and I got a strawberry donut. Mmmmmmmm! Donuts! Here's a picture of me trying to get my donut. It's blurry because I'm trying to jump up and get my donut. Gimme! Mmmmmmmm! Then we walked back to the car. I was so excited to go home that I tried to climb in the window. Here's a picture of me in the car window. It's blurry. Apparently I'm not supposed to do that. Whatever. I give Boredstrom 2 Paws. Now all my snow is gone and it's hot outside. Is it going to snow again soon?

More snow!!!

This morning it was snowing again! I was so happy! I could've stayed outside all day. First I saw my friend Maggie. Here's a picture of me and Maggie.

Her human is petting my head. I got to lie around in the snow for a long time, but eventually my human made me go inside. We were inside for hours. Why?? I don't know. Finally we went out again. We walked all the way to Starbuck's. Oh boy, whipped cream! I didn't get any whipped cream. Huh? I'll have a venti whipped cream, please. What do you mean they don't make those? Okay, two grande whipped creams then. I still didn't get any. Then we went to the beach. There was a tennis ball on the beach. It was frozen! Here's a picture of me with the tennis ball.

It tasted icy! I played with the tennis ball for a long time. Here's a video of me playing with the tennis ball.

It was so much fun! Let's stay here all day! I wasn't allowed. The beach was so snowy. Here's a picture of me on the beach in the snow.

It looks just like Norway. Then we went home. I didn't want to go inside but they made me. Hmph. At least I got a lamb ear when I got upstairs. Mmmmmm! Lamb ears!! Mmmmmmm.

BLIZZARD!!!!!!

SO! HAPPY! It started yesterday with my walk to Parkview Pet Supplies to see Joe. Here's a picture of me on my walk.
See how snowy I am? It was already snowing and we were the only ones there. I got lots of lamb puffs. Mmmmmm! Lamb puffs! Then my humans stood around talking and I got bored so I went over and helped myself to a lamb ear. SO GOOD!! MMMMMMMM! Lamb ears! Another please! They wouldn't let me get another. If I'm not supposed to help myself, why is the basket of lamb ears where I can reach it? Huh? They didn't have an answer for that.

When it was time for my late walk, it was really windy and snowy out. We walked down half the block. I fell in a snow drift and then there was lightning. Huh?! It's not supposed to do that! I'm going inside – NOW! I peed and ran back home. All night I could hear the wind and snow. Once all the lights went out. My humans went around lighting candles. Whatever. I just went to sleep. But the lights came back on.

This morning I was so excited! It was cold and windy and there was so much snow on the ground! First we went to the park. I had to jump through lots of snow drifts. I thought there would be lots of dogs in the park, but we were the only ones there. Here's a picture of me in the empty park.

Hello? Um. Hello? Where is everyone? Then my friend Barry came out. I was so happy to see him that I even played with him a little. Here's a picture of me and Barry.
He's bigger than he looks in this picture. Here's a picture of me playing with Barry.
I'm rolling in the snow. I don't know what Barry's doing. Then we headed back home. The snow was so deep that we walked down the middle of the street. Here's a picture of me walking in the street.
There were only a few cars out. When we got home I didn't want to go inside so I sat in the yard while my human shoveled the snow. Here's a picture of me in the yard.
Here's another picture of me in the yard.
Just shovel around me, please. It was snowing again. Here's a picture of me after just a little while in the snow.
It was like a snow blanket. It felt so good!!!

Soon lots of people were out shoveling. I just stayed in the yard and guarded the front gate. Here's a picture of me guarding the gate.

Our new neighbor dog came out, so I had to leave the yard. He's not friendly. Whatever. I went and hung out in the middle of the street with my friend Kona. She found a stick. Here's a picture of me and Kona playing with her stick.
Here's a picture of me taking the stick away from Kona.
It's blurry because it's an action shot. The stick broke so she still got a piece of it. Here's a picture of me and Kona playing with our pieces of the stick.
Mine's bigger. She found another stick. Here's a picture of us playing with her new stick.
She wouldn't let go. Here's another picture of me and Kona in the middle of the street.
There was no room for cars, so we didn't have to get out of the way for anyone. It was our street. Here's a picture of me in the middle of my street.
It should be like this all the time.

Then my human made me go inside. I didn't want to. But we only stayed in for a little while and then we went back out again. This time we walked all the way to Starbuck's. We didn't go through the park though – we walked right down Lake Shore Drive! Here's a picture of me with my human in the middle of Lake Shore Drive.

There were other people walking on Lake Shore Drive too. We had to jump out of the way for snow plows a couple of times. Hey! You're going the wrong way! They didn't care. We sat outside Starbuck's for awhile since it was so nice out. I got some whipped cream. Mmmmmm! Whipped cream!! And cinnamon coffee cake! Mmmmm! Coffee cake! It was lowfat. I don't care – it still tasted good. A bunch of people took my picture. I look good in the snow. Then we walked all through the houses toward Parkview. I wanted to go see Joe, but I wasn't allowed. My humans said he was closed. I don't know what that means. When we got home I still didn't want to go inside, so I sat in the yard again while my humans shoveled some more. Here's a picture of me in the yard.
The snow was really deep. My human is shoveling in the background. I even took a nap on the sidewalk out front while they shoveled the yard. Here's a picture of me on the sidewalk.
Look at all the snow! Then my human got tired and we took a nap together. Here's a picture of us taking a nap in the yard.

Here's another one.
He's squinting because the sun is coming out. Eventually my humans said we had to go inside. No! I don't wanna! Here's a picture of me refusing to go inside.
They made me. Whatever. It was still the best day ever! The only thing that could make it better is if there were sausages...I said, the only thing that could make it better is if there were sausages...Hello? Um. Hello? Sigh.

Play Day!

This morning I went for a long walk. I got to roll in the snow. It felt so good! Here's a picture of me rolling in the snow.
I could do this all day. Then I saw my friend Dude. Here's a picture of me with Dude.

We don't really play together, but I like seeing him. Then I saw my friend Rothke. Rothke is my favorite friend. We play a lot. Here's a picture of me and Rothke playing.

He's stealing my stick. The other dog in the picture is Ariel. Ariel doesn't play. Period. Here's a picture of me chasing Rothke.

Here's another picture of me chasing Rothke.

Come back here with my stick! Here's a picture of me about to get my stick back.

Here are some pictures of me and Rothke wrestling.

Here's a picture of us boxing.

Here's another picture of us boxing.

It looks like we're dancing, but we're not. I'm biting his arm. I was really tired after playing with Rothke. I just wanted to lie in the snow and take a nap, but my human made me walk all the way home and climb stairs. I can barely move. I need pizza. Delivered.

Grandma's Memorial

On Saturday I went to Grandma's. There were lots of people there and lots and lots of food. I hardly got any! Some kids spent a lot of time petting me and rubbing my belly. I liked them. Here's a picture of me with Sidney.

She wanted to take me home with her. Do you have sausages there? I'll go if you have sausages. Or bacon. Sidney gave me some cheese doodles. Mmmmmm! Cheese doodles! Here's a picture of me with Ann.

See the table full of food behind us? It was too high for me to reach. Hmph! I liked Ann a lot. She gave me food – real food, not just dog treats. My human yelled at her. My human is stupid. I'm a big dog and they don't feed me enough. They even took me to the vet on the way to Grandma's to weigh me. Huh??!! I'm underweight! I'm supposed to be big. My humans gave me some treats after everyone else left. Finally! It was sooooo good! I got cheese and roast beef and bread and salmon and mmmmmmmmm!!!! It still wasn't enough. When I got home I was exhausted. Begging is hard work.

Then on Sunday it was snowing! I went out and rolled in the snow a lot. Then we saw my friend Rothke. I got to chase him and play for a long time in the park. We played with a ball and a stick. I like the stick best. Last night I was too tired to go out. Maybe I'll go to Parkview and see Joe today. I haven't been there in months.

Knuckles Goes Home

On Friday we went for another long walk. Me and Knuckles. Here's a picture of us walking in the park with my human.

See how he's trying to walk ahead of me? Humph! He did stuff like that all the time. He'd push in front of me when I was getting petted and try to race me to the kitchen for dinner. And if I stood behind him, he'd hit me in the face with his tail. SO annoying! We walked to Starbuck's. Here's a picture of us outside of Starbuck's.

It's one of the worst pictures ever. Here's a picture of us greeting my human when he came out of Starbuck's.

It's only slightly better. Whipped cream, please! I didn't get any. I think it was because of Knuckles. Then we walked home. I didn't want to go home. I wanted to go to Parkview Pet Supplies and see Joe. Here's a picture of me refusing to walk home.

No! I want to see Joe! I wasn't allowed. I think it was because of Knuckles. When we were at a stoplight an ambulance drove by. It was really loud. But not as loud as Knuckles! Hey! What the hell??!! Why are you howling at the ambulance? I don't get it. Knuckles likes to make noise. We have a noisy new neighbor dog who barks at everything. Every time he barked, Knuckles would growl and woof. Hey! Knucklehead! Cut it out. I growled at him once and he shut up, but he did the same thing next time, so I gave up.

When we got home I was really tired. So was Knuckles. We fell asleep right inside the door. Here's a picture of us in the foyer.

See how tired he is? When it was time for our late walk I refused to go. I'm tired of all these long walks! I'll just stay here and lick the salad bowl. Here's a picture of me licking the salad bowl right before it was taken away from me.
Then they left to walk Knuckles. I don't care. Don't wake me up when you get home.

On Saturday it was more of the same. Walk, sleep, walk, sleep, walk. But after our late walk my humans took Knuckles' dog bed out of the living room. Huh? They packed up his food bowls and all his food. Um…you can leave the food. They didn't. Then they left with Knuckles and all his stuff. They took him home…or so I'm told. It was really quiet all last night. And this morning we all slept extra late. Then I went on my morning walk – just me! It felt so good not to be rushing everywhere! I went in the park and laid down for the whole walk. Then we came home. I think I'll just sleep the rest of the day. Wake me up for dinner, please!
It was kind of fun having Knuckles here. Maybe I'll see him in the park sometime. I'd like that.

The Visitor

On Monday we took the Christmas tree out. Here's a picture of me in the park with my human dragging the tree.

I don't get it. Why bring it in and dress it up if you're just going to take it out again? We took it to a big pile of more trees. Here's a picture of me by the big pile of trees.

It was really big.

On Tuesday I went for a long walk in the morning in the SNOW! Then we walked to Chase Bank where I got TWO milkbones! Mmmmmmilkbones! Here's a picture of me at the bank.

It's a really bad picture. It's blurry and I could be anywhere. Sigh.

Then we walked to Parkview to see Joe and I got lamb puffs! Mmmmmmmmm! Lamb puffs!! When we got home my new friend Knuckles was outside our building. His human had a bunch of stuff with her and she gave it to my humans. Then she left. Um….Hey, lady! You forgot your dog!! Apparently that was the plan all along. My humans took all the stuff and Knuckles upstairs with us. Um…How's this going to work? My house, right? My rules, right?

Before long we went for a walk, me AND Knuckles. Here's a picture of me and Knuckles walking.

It's from behind. Hey! Slow down! Knuckles likes to run and jump. I like to walk and lie down. Hmph! My walk, my rules. Here's a picture of me lying down on our walk and Knuckles standing nearby.

Whatever.

Knuckles likes to hang out with me in the living room. That's okay as long as he doesn't try to get on my couch. Here's a picture of us in the living room.

His bed is in the background. He brought his own bed! This is just for a few days, right?

Today I got woken up at 6:30 AM!!!! To walk Knuckles. I went with because I'm not letting my human walk him without me. Then we went out again at 8:30am. What!? Two walks already??!! HMPH! Then I got to go for a car ride – no Knuckles!! My human took me to a school for a Safe Humane Chicago presentation and I got to meet lots of kids and get petted for hours! Then we went to my Grandma's house and I got to lie on the couch while my human did stuff. Just me! AND we went to PetSmart. I didn't get anything, but I got to smell lots of good stuff. I give PetSmart 2 Paws. I would have given them 3 Paws if the cashier had given me treats.
After that we went home. I said hi to Knuckles and then I pushed my way into the room with my Grandma's cats – JUST ME. I'm exhausted now. Wake me at dinner time.
