Stormy Wednesday

Today it was really hot again. And it was raining. My human didn't even try to walk me at 7:30 which was fine with me. We waited until almost 11 when it had almost stopped raining but was still cloudy out. I walked down to the park and stood under a tree and smelled things. I could smell a barbeque and lots of damp squirrels. Damp squirrels smell sooooooo goooood. Then we came back inside and I slept. Hot weather makes me tired.

Later my human made cat food and I got some raw beef liver. At first I didn't like the way it felt on my tongue and I spit it out on the floor, but then I tasted it and it was gooood, so I ate it and went in the kitchen for more. I still don't like the way it feels on my tongue.

This evening my human raced me outside just as it started to rain. I went halfway down the block and peed and then came back home. There was lightening and I could hear the thunder. I'm not scared of thunderstorms, I'm just smart enough not to go out in one.

Before bed I had a homemade frozen dogurt pop – mmmmmmmm, peanut butter and yogurt! It was salty and tangy and gooooood! I ate the whole thing!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

Today I went for a walk to Starbuck's and the bank. I like the bank because they give me milkbones, but today they were out of milkbones. But it was nice and cool inside and the whole place is carpeted so I give the bank 2 Paws. If they had milkbones I would give them 3 Paws, but they didn't. I usually get a water at Starbuck's, but today I wasn't thirsty. And then some guy started smoking right on the other side of the patio. There's a sign that says no smoking "on or within 15 feet" of the patio, but either he can't read or he can't count because he was smoking within 5 feet of the patio. I don't like cigarettes – they make me sneeze. So I got up and my human took me to the other side of the front door and we stood there and waited for my other human to come out of Starbuck's. Today I give Starbuck's 1 Paw because of the smoke.

On the way home we went to the beach. It was almost empty and then these 2 little Italian Greyhounds showed up right before I got to the gate. They were fast and really annoying. I tried to chase one, but it kept running and weaving around and I got tired. Then when I stopped the other one came up and they both sniffed and barked at me, but I was too tired to play anymore. After I caught my breath I stuck to chasing sticks. Then I went home and my humans put a fan on me because I was so wet. At first I didn't like the fan, but then it felt pretty good so I took a nap by it.

After dinner my humans watched a movie and I got a peanut! Mmmmmmmm! I hear people say all the time that they wouldn't work for peanuts. I don't understand that saying. I would totally work for peanuts. Then my humans dragged me outside for a walk. I don't know why you people take me out in these horrible conditions!! I hope this heat wave ends soon. It's almost winter, right?

Grillin!

The past few days it was hot and I stayed inside a lot. Yesterday my humans left me alone for a really long time. It felt like weeks! But then they came home and took me to the beach. I got to lie in the water and cool off and then I chased a stick. After that I was tired so I came home and slept.

Today I got to go to Grandma's house and they forgot to take up the cat kibble so I ate it all. Mmmmmmmm! Cat kibble! Then we went for a walk and when we came home we had a barbeque. Mmmmmmm! Here's a picture of me watching the grill.

They didn't cook anything on this grill, but I still like to watch. My human kept trying to take my picture and I wouldn't look at her. I got fed a piece of chicken portabella sausage right off the grill! MMMMMMMM!!!! Later I pulled a pork chop bone out of the garbage, but my human saw and took it away before I ate any. And I didn't get any banana cream pie even though there was plenty to go around.

My Day With Harvey

Today I went for a walk and to the beach with my friend, Harvey. His humans were there too. I wasn't very sociable because I was hot. Really, really hot. When we got to the beach I ran right in the water to cool off and then I felt better. Here's a picture of me in the water.

It was annoying because my human kept taking my picture. I like hanging out with Harvey because he doesn't jump all over me and bark and we can just be together. Here is a picture of me and Harvey on the beach.

After the beach we went and sat under a tree in the park. There was a cool breeze and it felt good. When I got home I had a Polar Pup treat. Mmmmmmm! Then I dried off on the big comfy chair in the living room.

Later my humans went out without me. And it was dinner time too. I don't like it when they go out without me. Then I'm all alone with the cats. Sometimes the cats are mean to me. They look at me funny and taunt me and I don't like it. Mostly Ivan. I think Ivan is crazy. You can see it in his eyes. Here's a picture of Ivan.

See what I mean? Who sleeps like that? Crazy people sleep like that. Sometimes when I'm sleeping on the couch, Ivan sneaks up and stands on the back of the couch and watches me. I don't like it. I wish he wouldn't do that. If I wake up and see him there I growl at him and then he goes away. When my humans came back they had a bag of Chinese food and I was SOOOO excited! I love Chinese food!! But I didn't get any Chinese food. I tried to grab a paper napkin from the coffee table, but my human told me no. I don't like it when she tells me no, so I went and lay down by her feet. I don't know why I can't have the napkin with Chinese food on it because all they do is throw it out anyway. I don't care that I had a Polar Pup I'm still hungry. Maybe later I'll go and get the napkin from the garbage. Today I give the beach 3 Paws because Harvey was there. If Harvey wasn't there I would give it 1 Paw because it was too hot.

Summerfest

Tonight I went to the Furry Friends Summerfest. I met some dogs and lots of people took my picture and petted me and told me how pretty I am. I was very good and did cute tricks. I waved a lot. There were lots of treats, but my human only let me have a few. If I'm not going to get treats, why did I have to go to the Summerfest? We stood around for over an hour so I could be in the cute dog contest. I already know I'm cute. People tell me all the time. See how cute I am?

The prizes were grooming/doggie day care certificates (don't want/need), dog training certificate (don't want/need) and a professional dog portrait and I don't really like having my picture taken. I didn't win the contest but I don't care. If they're going to have a dog contest, then they should have prizes that a dog would want. I suggest a year's supply of sausages, peanut butter, bacon, Polar Pups…you get the idea. And there weren't any sausages at the Summerfest either. I was told there would be sausages. I give the Furry Friends Summerfest 2 Paws.

Polar Pups!!!

This morning when I went for a walk there were bugs and no squirrels. I don't like bugs. They land on me and I don't like it. I don't like it when stuff falls off the trees and lands on me either because it feels like bugs. I snapped at some flies on a bush, but they flew away. Then they came back and taunted me. Squirrels taunt me too. People think squirrels are cute but they're not. They sit up in the tree and shake their tails and taunt dogs. Sometimes I think they throw things at me. I only like squirrels because they are fun to chase and taste good. Not as good as rabbit. Mmmmmm! Baby rabbits are my favorite!! In the spring, I can smell them everywhere. Mmmmmmm! Fat, juicy, baby rabbits! If my humans would let me chase the squirrels I would eat them. Rabbits too.

This afternoon I went for a car ride. This time I got out of the car when my human was walking the other dogs. One of the dogs tried to jump on my back and snapped at me and it really pissed me off. I think they knew I was pissed because then they drove me to Soggy Paws. The last time I went to Soggy Paws I didn't like it because the floors looked slippery. I wouldn't walk on them and the groomer carried me into the back room and back out again. In the back room he clipped my claws and the fur on the bottom of my paws. It tickles when they clip my fur and I don't like it. But then when I left my human gave me a peanut butter Polar Pups treat. Mmmmmmmm! It's like peanut butter ice cream just for dogs. Mmmmmmm! The only thing that would be better is if they put bacon bits on it. MMMMMMMMM!!! Today when we went to Soggy Paws I was nervous about the floors, but then it was okay. I walked around inside and my human gave me treats. Then she bought me Polar Pups.

More adventures

This morning my human got up really early. She fed me and then tried to walk me, but I wouldn't go. It was too early and I don't like going out when it's early. We went for a walk later and I met a new dog that I liked and saw my friend Barry. Sometimes I like Barry, but today I didn't want to be bothered. He put his paw on my back and it made me mad. Then I went home and slept some more. Being an adventure dog is hard work and I need lots of sleep.

Later I went for a car ride. We just drove someplace and my one human got out and I stayed in the car with my other human. I didn't like it and I cried because I could see her outside with other dogs and then she came back smelling like peanut butter but I didn't get any. I like peanut butter. Sometimes, sometimes my humans give me peanut butter cookies, or just plain peanut butter, but the best thing ever is peanut butter pretzels. Mmmmmm. There's pretzel, and then when I bite it, there's peanut butter inside. I would do almost anything for a peanut butter pretzel. It would be even better if they made them with bacon bits. Then I went for a walk to the dog beach. I met a big dog and went in the water.

A few minutes ago my human tried to take me for a walk. Rrrrrmmf! Don't wanna! I walked into the living room instead. Maybe tomorrow they'll give me some peanut butter pretzels.
