For Earth Day I went to Rainbow Beach for the Health Fair to help Safe Humane Chicago. It feels like it was months ago. Here's a picture of me in front of the Safe Humane Chicago table.
Okay, bring on the kids! There weren't very many kids there. That's okay, I smell food! Let's go find it. My human said no, we had to stay by the table. But I smell pretzels!! We had to stay by the table. Hmph! We were there for a long time and there were just a few people. FINALLY my human said we could walk around. Oh boy! I know where I want to go! Here's a picture of me in front of the pretzel table.
Hurry up and take the picture already! I'm starving! They were giving out samples! Mmmmmmmm! Pretzels!! They had regular pretzels and gluten free pretzels. I ate them both. The regular pretzels were nice and warm. I liked those best. Can I have more please? My human said no. I give Kim & Scott's Gourmet Pretzels 3 paws. Their sign said they make stuffed pretzels, but they didn't have any samples of those. I don't see why not. I want to try a cheese and sausage and bacon and peanut butter stuffed pretzel! They don't make those? I don't see why not. Then we went back to our table. It was almost time to go when a little girl came over. Oh Boy! She sat down and petted me for a long time. Here's a picture of me with the little girl.
I bet she would give me stuffed pretzels. Here's another picture of me with the little girl.
I'm distracted because I smell potato chips. Mmmmmm! Potato chips! Here's another picture of me with the little girl.
She's trying to get my attention, but the person with potato chips is right in front of me. Gimme!! You know what would be really good? If I could eat potato chips while being petted! I didn't get any. After the little girl left my human finally gave me some potato chips. Mmmmmm! I'm pretty sure they were healthy potato chips. I liked Rainbow Beach!

Lincoln Park
After the disappointment of Wicker "Park", my humans took me to a real park - Lincoln Park. It smelled great! I took a long time walking around and sniffing everything. We walked over to North Pond Cafe. It smelled delicious! Can we go inside? We couldn't. They were closed.
Here's a picture of me outside North Pond Cafe. I'm starving. Then we walked by the pond. I was ready to jump in, but my humans wouldn't let me. Here's a picture of me looking for a good place to jump from.
See how nice the water looks? We saw some ducks and a goose. I tried to jog over and catch them but they went in the water. Hey, if you let me go in the water I can still catch them! They wouldn't let me. Here's a picture of me watching the ducks and goose swim away.
Hmph. We started to walk down a hill to another good spot to go in the water when a tree hissed at me. What the hell?! I didn't like it one bit! Then I saw the big goose up in the tree. Here's a picture of the goose in the tree that was hissing at us.
My human was still trying to go down the hill. Uh uh. No way! You'll have to go without me! I stood my ground. Here's a picture of me refusing to go anywhere near that goose tree.
I'm starting to rethink the whole catching a goose thing. Let's just go home and take a nap. We went home and took a nap.

Wicker "Park"
On Friday I was really excited because my human said we were going to Wicker Park. Is it going to be like Prairie Wolf Dog Park? No. It isn't. In fact, it wasn't a park at all. There was no grass, no trees, just lots of noise and cars and a big confusing intersection. My human said there is an actual park, but we didn't go there. Huh? I don't see why not.
We stopped by Rapid Transit Bike Shop. Here's a picture of me in the bike shop.
I'm standing by a cart that gets pulled on the back of a bike. Um…do they make these in dog sizes? Here's a picture of me outside the bike shop.
Then we went to Starbuck's. We had to cross so many streets to get there, but I could see it straight ahead. Why can't we just go straight ahead? I don't get it. Then we had to cross all the streets again just to go back to the car. And I didn't even get whipped cream. Mmmmmm! Whipped cream! Sigh. Wicker "Park" was a bust. And for the record, I didn't see any wicker either.

Photo Op with Mayor Daley
On Saturday I got up early for my photo op with Mayor Daley. First we went to Parkview Pet Supplies and I got 2 lamb ears. Mmmmmmmm! Lamb ears!! I got some beef puffs too! Mmmmmm! Beef puffs! Then we walked across the street to Bromann Playground to wait for the Mayor. Here's a picture of me at Bromann Playground.I'm waiting outside the playground. Why? Because dogs aren't allowed inside the playground. No, really. Here's a picture of me next to the sign that say dogs aren't allowed.Huh? I don't see why not. Some people ignored the sign and took their dogs in anyway. We waited a long time. I was bored. I wanted to go across the street and get another lamb ear. Or two. Finally Mayor Daley showed up. Here's a picture of me with Mayor Daley. He didn't stop. Here's a picture of me outside the park wondering why the hell we just stood around for an hour.I think I was snubbed. I'd rather be at the beach anyway. We went to the beach. Here's a picture of me on the beach.See how much happier I look? Here's a picture of me running out of the water with a big stick. It was really big. After I went in the water I rolled around in the sand. It was nice and cool. Here's a picture of me after I rolled in the sand. What's so funny? I didn't want to go home. I wanted to stay at the beach. Here's a picture of me refusing to leave the beach. No! I'm not going. They made me go. I got to the park. Look! There's still sand here! Let's stay here for a while. Here's a picture of me lying on the sand in the park. They made me get up. No! I don't want to go home! There are too many cats there! It's so nice outside. We got all the way to our block. NO! I'm putting my paws down – all four of them! Here's a picture of me refusing to go home.Do you have something to do? I don't! I can stay here all day! They made me go home. I'll get sand and lake water all over your couch! They made me go home anyway. Sigh.

My Massage
Last week I got a massage. Here's a picture of me with Bruce from Companion Animal Touch Therapies.
He's giving me my massage. Um…is he supposed to be doing that? I wasn't sure what was going on. But it felt really good. Here's another picture of me getting my massage.
See how relaxed I am?
See? Then I got on my Orvis bed and he massaged me there too. Here's a picture of me getting a massage on my dog bed.
Um…oh…yeah….that's it….oh boy. I think I liked my massage but I'm reserving judgment until next time. There's a next time, right? Right?
